Our Front Desk, SoShan Wong
SoShan has been in the dental field for over 20 years. After earning her BS degree in Business Administration from San Jose State University, she has devoted her professional career in the dental field. She love to be able to work with each patient on an one-on-one basis, and to help patients to understand their insurance benefits so that they are able to make financial arrangement that is within the comfort zone. My professional goal is achieving and maintaining oral health for my patients. I believe in an individual approach, realistic goals, and optimal knowledge, therefore, education regarding oral health is of a great importance, and patient’s satisfaction is the best reward. I have over 9 years of experience working in the dental field, and will be happy to offer my expertise for the benefit of my patients.

A dental hygienist is a licensed dental auxiliary who specializes in preventive dental care, typically, but not limited to, focusing on techniques in oral hygiene. Local dental regulations determine the duties hygienists are able to perform. In most jurisdictions, hygienists work for a dentist, and some are licensed to administer restricted techniques of local anesthesia. Common procedures performed by hygienists include cleaning, scaling and root planing, radiography, and dental sealing.
In some areas, the dental regulations include extended duties and exemptions for dental hygienists. Some hygienists are allowed to practice scaling and root planing without dentist supervision. In many areas, if under the supervision of a dentist, hygienists are allowed to perform bleaching techniques to restore teeth with certain classes of fillings.
The dental hygiene process of care has five steps:
- Assessment: Gathering data.
- Dental hygiene diagnosis: Interpreting data into a coherent description of a client's condition in terms that can be addressed by a dental hygienist.
- Planning: Determining the techniques that solve the problems indicated in the dental hygiene diagnosis and the order that those techniques will be applied.
- Implementation: Carrying out the plans.
- Evaluation: Evaluating the effectiveness of the treatment that was performed.

Hello, I have been assisting and educating patients as an RDA (Registered Dental Assistant) in the field of dentistry for over 15 years. I love my career, as I enjoy helping people. It has been exciting to see all the new dental technologies being developed and it is even more exciting to introduce the new services to our patients in our beautiful high tech office. Most of our patients are surprised of how quick, easy and painless dental treatments can be today. I am happily married to a great husband and a proud mother of two beautiful girls. Our family likes to go camping, spending the day at the beach, BBQ, and staying together with friends and our families. Some of my personal interests include gardening, shopping and cooking.
